Cross-boundary Coastal Rainforest first annual meeting

Aquatic Carbon Biogeochemistry of Coastal Temperate Rainforests

NSF RCN Workshop on land-ocean connectivity along the North American Pacific coast
Feb 8–10, 2017 | Talaris Conference Center, Seattle, WA, USA

Please join us in Seattle for the inaugural workshop of the newly-funded NSF Coastal Rainforest Margins Research Network.

We will bring together a select group of hydrologists, aquatic biogeochemists, and others interested in processes occurring across the land-freshwater-ocean continuum for a small group workshop.

Workshop goals

  • Synthesize the current state of knowledge of carbon biogeochemistry along the land-water continuum of the Pacific Coastal Temperate Rainforest into a multi-authored peer reviewed publication
  • Solidify a scientific community to build a research agenda on processes acting across temperate rainforest coastal margins into the future

For more information, please contact Brian Buma or Allison Bidlack.  Some travel funding will be available. More details on agenda and objectives will be available soon.

As part of the current RCN efforts we plan on hiring a postdoc to work with the team on C fluxes from terrestrial to marine systems.  Sign up to the listserv or follow on the website (or here) for more information in the next few weeks.

Here’s how to join:

  • Send an email with “Subscribe” in the subject field
  • OR, visit the listserv website, where you can sign up and choose your notification preferences (as-sent, or digest form)

Email the list to post to it. Stay tuned for more information about the Network and opportunities to get involved!
