We are hosting a symposium on temperate rainforest disturbance dynamics in the context of climate change at the International Association for Landscape Ecology meeting in Portland, OR, in early July. Talks will focus on how climate change and people are altering and shifting this important biome - some of the densest carbon stocks anywhere. Temperate rainforests exist right on the snowline for much of the year, so any temperature shifts are significant. For example, yellow cedar decline here in southeast Alaska (>250,000 ha dead).
Hope to see people there!
