Pine beetles, hydrology, and Germany

Work funded by the Western Water Assessment, the University of Colorado, and the University of Alaska has been featured at the Global Land Project's Open Science Meeting 2014 in Berlin, Germany.  I was over there presenting the work related to mountain pine beetle outbreaks, water supplies, and management responses.

We used DHSVM, a University of Washington associated hydrology model to project how beetle disturbance alters water supplies in mountain ecosystems.  The work has been backed by years of various publications, and the culminating publications are in review.
